Marching Band and Guard
The Owen Valley Marching Band and Guard performs in ISSMA Open Class C competition, as well as at local parades and events. The group was 1992 Bands of America Class A National Champion and Indiana State School Music Association Class C State Champions in 1994.
Concert Band
Owen Valley has four performing concert bands: Beginning Band (7th Grade), Intermediate Band (8th Grade), Symphonic Band (Intermediate-High School) and Wind Ensemble (Advanced-High School). The program has received many gold ratings at regional competition.
Owen Valley Winter Percussion
Owen Valley Winter Percussion competes in the Indiana Percussion Association circuit. They are currently in their second year as a movement percussion group. Their 2025 Show is called "Puppet Master"
Winter Guard
The Owen Valley High School Winter Guard program consists of both a varsity and cadet program. Both groups compete at Indiana High School Color Guard Association contests, with varsity recently earning a 3rd place finish at state finals in 2018. They since have been moved up to A class.
Owen Valley High School Big Band
The Owen Valley High School Jazz Ensemble is a traditional style big band that competes at ISSMA competitions. The group most recently earned a "Gold" rating in the spring of 2025
Owen Valley Middle School Jazz Ensemble
The Owen Valley Middle School Jazz Ensemble is an open group to all middle school students to take as a second band elective during the school year. The ensemble performs at regional jazz invitationals and ISSMA Jazz Contest in March.
